UN Decade "Education for Sustainable Development"  The organizers of the final German conference for the UN Decade "Education for Sustainable Development" decided to implement a practical approach. In addition to the theoretical debate on the issue of sustainability, the conference gave preference to the use of organic, local and fair trade products, the name tags were printed on recycled cardboard, the use of disposable plastics was avoided. USB sticks were made of recycled plastic, lanyards were made from banners of the ESD Decade. Instead of cut flowers, potted herbs, material from the WCCB garden and upcycled elements of banners were used for decoration. nextlearning advised the organizers (German UNESCO Commission and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) in matters of sustainable conference organization and developed appropriate actions concerning mobility, catering, equipment and reducing waste together with different service providers.
