Our world is becoming increasingly interlinked and more complex. Adapting to climate change, building regenerative economies, regulating new technologies or supporting cultural diversity present us with societal transformation processes that can no longer be mastered in silos of thinking and doing. nextlearning stands for engaging with the challenges of the 21st century by designing desirable futures through understanding and testing possibilities that highlight the interdependence of personal, societal and planetary well-being.

"The future we want needs to be invented;
otherwise we will get one we don't want."

Joseph Beuys
Our work can be described as Creative Transformation Learning, which supports organizations and individuals in building skills and capacity for the 21st century.  We have wide-ranging experience in designing learning environments, including moderation, visualization and knowledge transfer as well as facilitating processes and establishing networks. In order to help new ideas to become a reality, we create and support formats that enable learning and transformation in the following areas:

Participatory Governance

Improving democracy together.
New challenges require new solutions. nextlearning is committed to innovative formats of governance, in which different actors interact creatively and collaboratively.

Economic Transition

Working for life quality.
The last decades have been marked by unprecedented economic growth, resource consumption and waste. nextlearning supports the development of an economy that is regenerative, sensible and accessible to all, within the ecological limits of our planet.

Cultural Change

Advocating for diversity and expression.
Cultural differences, phobia of the unknown and of incomprehensible perspectives, can lead to significant conflicts. nextlearning advocates for cultural interaction that is respectful, dialogical and multifaceted.

nextlearning was founded in 2011 by Caroline Paulick-Thiel, Susanne Stövhase and Claudia Dikmans. We have since expanded our team with artists, designers, social entrepreneurs and scientists. Through our projects, we aim to promote the integration of creative resources in societal learning processes. We are committed to a sustainable transformation that is transdisciplinary and collective – developed and implemented at the intersection of academia, business, government and society.
